The Oxygen of H20 is the culprit of corrosion. When placed next to any metal, Oxygen will begin to oxidize the metal including, iron, steel, aluminum, copper, and brass.Graphite in the radiator water solution will evenly coat all metal and rubber surfaces. This light graphite coating acts as a barrier between the metal and the water .... a barrier, which prevents corrosion of the metals by preventing the oxygen in the water from getting to them. Without this corrosion, the metals transfer heat faster into the water and the engine runs cooler.
This 20z of graphite will treat 3 gallons of radiator water. This is the average size of a standard radiator. The graphite will coat all surfaces, including the existing corrosion. It will stop the corrosion process by producing a barrier between the existing corrosion and the water.
It is best to flush the cooling system before adding the graphite, however in our tests, graphite added to un-flushed systems did not hinder the coating process.
Place the graphite directly into radiator. The water will turn black. In about 6 months or a year, depending on the amount of corrosion In the system, the water may become totally clear. This means the graphite has coated all surfaces of the entire cooling system. Add a slight amount of additional graphite until the radiator water becomes black again.
If rust particles ever reappear in the water, add another 2oz of graphite. This means the system was rustler than you thought or the water amount was greater than 3 gals.
NOTE: If you have extreme rust showing in your water, flush the cooling system. Replace with clean water and add the graphite.
Graphite will work well with antifreeze. It does not inhibit the work of antifreeze. Use the recommended mixture as per your area or auto manufacturer.
Graphite does not replace antifreeze. It will freeze if the water freezes. However, tf you live in an area where freezing Is no problem, don't use Antifreeze. Use straight water. 100% water dispenses heat much faster than the antifreeze mix of 50% water / 50% antifreeze. Your car will run cooler using straight water with the graphite.
Graphite will stain your fingers. Use nail polish remover to remove the stains.
